THE JESUS PRAYER
The Jesus Prayer is one of the oldest prayers in Christianity. It originates form the words spoken by the two blind men in Matthew 20:31. This prayer was formalized by the Orthodox Churches in the 5th Century. To pray this prayer, breath in and say, "O Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God,", and exhale saying, "have mercy on me a sinner!", repeatedly. Breathing in "O Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God,", is allowing Jesus to enter one's soul, exhaling "have mercy on me a sinner!", is pushing sin out of one's soul.
